Vicki Howell was recognized for her 40 years of service by the Bartlesville Public Schools Board of Education at their meeting on September 15, 2025. She currently serves as the district’s Special Services and Federal Programs Assistant.
Mrs. Howell works behind the scenes to support students and teachers, and has said that she has enjoyed the people that she worked with and her job’s daily challenges and problem-solving. She likes working with numbers and managing the district’s special education funds, competitive grants, and federal grant funds, and ensures that students and teachers have the tools that they need to be successful.
Vicki Howell was previously recognized as the District’s Classified Person of the Year in 2001 and received a Distinguished Service Award from the CCOSA Secretaries Group in 2011. In addition, she was recently awarded an Honorary Chapter FFA Degree from the Bartlesville FFA for her work in supporting the Bartlesville Agriculture Education Program.
One of the highlights of Vicki’s career has been participating in the district volleyball league. She has been on the ESC team for about 30 of her 40 years, and says that it is always fun to be with co-workers outside of the daily work environment. Wade Kester, a friend and co-worker of Vicki, reports that Vicki had a mean volleyball serve back in the day!
Mrs. Howell will be retiring at the end of September. A retirement reception will be held for her at the Education Service Center on September 30, 2025 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m.
