At its regular meeting on May 18, the Bartlesville Public Schools Board of Education will consider the appointment of Aaron Kuntz as the next Principal of Central Middle School effective July 1. Kuntz would fill the position vacated by Matt Hancock, who is moving to the position of Principal of Bartlesville High School.
Kuntz has served the district since 2005, accumulating more than twenty years of educational experience in Bartlesville Public Schools. His career spans classroom instruction, coaching, athletics, alternative education, and virtual learning. Kuntz began his career as an Earth and Life Science Teacher at Central and Madison Middle Schools. He later served as Biology Teacher at Bartlesville High School before joining the BHS administrative team in July 2022.
Kuntz currently serves as Assistant Principal of Bartlesville High School, where he has also served simultaneously as Principal of Bruin Academy (the Bartlesville Alternative Learning Program), Director of the BHS Virtual School, supervisor of the Adult Ed/GED program, and coordinator of the BHS summer credit recovery program.
Kuntz holds a Master of Education from Oklahoma State University, where he graduated with a 4.0 GPA, as well as a Bachelor of Science from Oklahoma State University. He holds an Oklahoma Administrative Secondary Principal certification and has completed training in Leader in Me, Advanced Placement instruction, Literacy First, and Great Expectations. A longtime contributor beyond the classroom, Kuntz has served as BHS Women's Varsity Soccer Head Coach, a board member of Run The Streets, and a CrossFit Bartlesville Coach.
