RED RIBBON WEEK

Bartlesville Public Schools is recognizing National Bullying Prevention Month and Red Ribbon Week this month, both part of our commitment to safe, respectful schools.

Bullying Prevention

October is National Bullying Prevention Month, founded by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center in 2006 to raise awareness of bullying and cyberbullying and encourage action to prevent them.

Kerry Ickleberry, Director of Safety, serves as the district’s bullying prevention coordinator. Find more about Bullying Prevention, including the Bullying Report Form, here.

Red Ribbon Week: Oct. 23-31

Red Ribbon Week is the nation’s largest and longest-running drug and violence prevention awareness campaign. This year, BPS is also using the week as Fentanyl Awareness Week to help students and families understand the dangers of fentanyl.

Many schools will hold spirit activities and classroom lessons. Ickleberry and School Resource Officers will visit classrooms to talk with students about bullying prevention, drug awareness, and safety.

Watch for details from your child’s school about additional Red Ribbon Week activities.
