Bartlesville Public Schools continues its partnership with Phillips 66 to support math achievement across the district. Since 2020, Phillips 66 has funded the ST Math program, which uses visual and neuroscience-based methods to improve student understanding and engagement in mathematics.
Over the past six years, Phillips 66 has invested $288,000 to ensure BPS students have access to this innovative instructional tool. The program uses neuroscience-based strategies and visual problem-solving models to help students build conceptual understanding rather than solely rely on memorization.

“Strong math skills are foundational for student success,” said Matt Epperson, VP of HR Operations & Services at Phillips 66. “By investing in ST Math, Phillips 66 is helping students build confidence, problem-solving skills, and a deeper understanding of mathematics — skills that benefit them well beyond the classroom.”
The ST Math program emphasizes spatial-temporal reasoning and nonverbal learning, making it accessible to a wide range of learners. Students work through interactive, game-base puzzles that encourage persistence and critical thinking while allowing them to progress at their own pace.
During the 2023-24 school year, schools implementing ST Math showed double the math growth compared to similar non-ST Math schools, including a 0.40 z-score advantage and a 12 percentile increase in proficiency, with third grade students showing nearly four times the growth of their peers.
Bartlesville Public Schools values this continued investment in student achievement. Partnerships like this reflect a shared commitment to academic growth, equitable access to learning, and preparing students with the skills needed for future success.
